Returning to Spring: A Preview Evening in the Studio
On Friday 17th April 2026, my studio was full.
Full of conversation.
Full of colour.
Full of that quiet hum that happens when people truly connect with artwork.
I hosted a preview of my new mixed media collection, Returning to Spring, before its official release. Watching guests step into these pieces for the first time felt incredibly special. There is something deeply moving about witnessing that first pause — that moment when someone sees themselves reflected in a piece.
We talked about woodland walks and how we’d like to be in the places that inspired each piece.
There were shared memories of favourite parks and that unmistakable spark when a piece resonated on a personal level.
Where the Collection Began
These works were born from those very walks.
From sunlight filtering through branches.
From the rhythm of footsteps on woodland paths.
From joyful, instinctive layers of paint, wire, pastel and expressive mark-making that felt almost childlike in their freedom.
Creating them felt immersive — a return not just to spring in nature, but to a sense of lightness and renewal in the studio itself.
To see them now living beyond my sketchbook and studio walls feels like a quiet celebration of everything they were created for.
Reflection · Soothing · Calm
These were the words most often used on Friday evening.
Reflection.
Soothing.
Calm.
Exactly what I had hoped the collection might hold.
The preview felt less like a formal launch and more like a gathering — a space where art opened the door to conversation and connection. It was relaxed and energising all in the same space.
Thank you to everyone who came, who asked thoughtful questions, who stood a little longer in front of a piece, who shared memories of their own springs and woodlands. Your presence made the evening what it was.
The Collection Is Now Live
If you weren’t able to attend the preview, I would love you to experience Returning to Spring.
You can explore each piece more closely on my website, where you’ll find detailed images and descriptions of the layers and materials within the work.
And if you’d prefer to see them in person, you’re always welcome to book a studio visit. There is something quite special about standing in front of the work, noticing the texture of wire, the softness of pastel, the small details that shift as the light changes.
I hope, wherever you view them, you find a piece that feels like stepping beneath the trees.
We all love to visit the gift shop and buy postcards after walking through the gallery or museum. With these postcard sets you get to do just that. Every month will be a different theme and you will receive 5 postcards showing works of art, sketches and close up details of originals by Heather Moore.
