Why I Created The Curated Nest Magazine

Have you ever walked into a beautifully decorated home and thought, It looks lovely... but it doesn't really feel like the people who live here?

We're surrounded by interiors that tell us what's fashionable. Every few months there's another "must-have" colour, another style we're told to embrace, another trend that's destined to disappear just as quickly as it arrived. Fast fashion for your home.

But our homes aren't showrooms.

They're where birthdays are celebrated, conversations stretch late into the evening, children grow up, dogs curl up by the fire and memories quietly accumulate over years. They deserve to reflect the people who live there, not simply the latest design trend.

That's why I created The Curated Nest.

It's a magazine for people who believe that a home should evolve with them. A home with personality. A home layered with stories, treasured finds and carefully chosen pieces that continue to bring joy long after fashions have changed. A place where heirlooms mean more than the latest thing on Instagram.

I want to celebrate thoughtful interiors that are built slowly rather than bought overnight.

I want to explore sustainable decorating by choosing quality over quantity and investing in pieces that have lasting meaning.

And, of course, I want to champion original art. Not because every wall has to become a gallery, but because living with artwork created by human hands brings warmth, character and individuality that simply can't be replicated.

Alongside my own articles about collecting art, creating a meaningful home and the stories behind my work, I'll also be inviting guest interior designers, writers and creatives to share their expertise and ideas. Together we'll explore how to create homes that feel welcoming, expressive and deeply personal. There will be studio updates, articles about what’s going on in the world of design and transformations in real homes that feel welcoming rather than Insta-perfect.

Whether you're renovating a forever home, refreshing a favourite room or simply looking for inspiration that goes beyond fleeting trends, I hope The Curated Nest becomes something you look forward to reading.
