Heather Moore Fine Art at Living North Live

Living North Magazine is somewhat of an institution in the North East. They champion local businesses and the pages inspire us to live well. I am proud to have presented more than once in their Live Lounge at Living North Live at Newcastle Racecourse.

On Saturday 25th April 2026, I did a demonstration of my range of workshops and the atmosphere was fab. I took people on a whistle stop tour of linocut, gelli plate printing and drypoint. The audience got live demos and hands on the materials with an opportunity to ask questions too. It's always nice to meet an audience face to face - you just don't get that with online marketing. Doing events like this not only keeps me visible but allows me to refine how I communicate so that I convey just how powerful an impact art can have on your life.

Linocut - beginners and reduction

I took the audience through the tools they do and don’t need to get started with this addictive process. When you come for a one to one workshop, we start from your level of skill and you can choose to return for the advance session in reduction print too. For anyone who cannot access workshops in Newcastle upon Tyne, I have an online version of the beginner’s workshop. More online workshops are coming soon.

Gelli Plate Printing

There was a touch of the Blue Peter about the demo with ;here’s something I prepared earlier’. I brought some gelli printed pieces with two layers on and added the final layer. In the Gelli Print workshop, we experiment with different ways to add and remove colour and texture, how to do a magazine transfer and how to apply freehand line.

Drypoint Printing

This method is the easiest to access if you are low in confidence. If you can trace then you can achieve amazing effects with drypoint. The audience marvelled at the finished effect of a basic drypoint and there is so much more you can do when you combine it with watercolours too. In the Drypoint workshop, we go through all of these variations.

If you'd love to get hands on and awaken your creative side then check out the full range of workshops here and contact me here with any questions.
